About Us
We are the parish church for Southdown, Whiteway and Kingsway, only two miles from the centre of Bath. We are open to all, whatever your level of faith. We are currently a relatively small community but those who have recently joined us, and those who have visited, comment on the warm welcome they receive.
We play an active part in the Christian life of the city and are part of a benefice with St Peter’s, Englishcombe, as Local Ministry Group with Ascension Church, Oldfield Park and St Michael and All Angels, Twerton as well as part of Bath Deanery within the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
New at St Barnabas: 5pm Tea Time Service
Next service: Sunday May 26th at 5pm in the church hall. This will be an informal servive including refreshments, quizes and children's activities, singing and a chance to chat. Arrive any time from 4.30 so yo have time for a cuppa and some cake first!
The tea time service is held at 5pm on the fourth Sunday of every month. All are welcome. Many people find they don not have time on Sunday mornings to come to church as there are so many other activities needing their time. This is a chance to come and relax at the end of the weekend and meet others to worship in a more informal atmosphere. We aim to finish by 6pm so that those with younger children can get them home, but we are very happy to stay and chat and pray with people for longer. We usually find it cosier to meet for this service in the church hall, but in the summer might also be in the church garden or the church itself.
Look out for our posters and banners welcoming you as you walk past!
